Hamilton McClymont
Hamilton McClymont is a senior manager, producer and consultant in the performing arts and attractions business. His management assignments have included revitalizing the Pacific National Exhibition annual fair, organizing the financial component of the strategic and operating plans which put the Canadian Stage Company (Toronto) on the road to profitability, implementing the highly successful entertainment program at EXPO 86 and leading the rescue of the Vancouver Opera from financial collapse.
He has worked as a consultant in the USA and throughout Canada on a wide range of projects. Management consulting for arts organizations and attractions, feasibility studies, operating and financial planning for performance facilities, and strategic planning are among the tasks he has taken on though his company, Lamont Management Inc. McClymont's work involves him with both management and governing bodies of arts and community organizations, attractions and government agencies. He has written and produced plans for special events designed to mark the opening of new facilities and to encourage tourism.
Prior to moving to Vancouver in 1978, he managed theatre companies in Toronto and Halifax and spent two years as the first Finance Officer in the Music Section of the Canada Council.
McClymont earned a B.A. from Dalhousie University and has served as a Director for a number of national associations.
He is principal of Lamont Management Inc, father of two young adults, flies,
plays hockey and loves opera.
